Q&A with Sigrun Syverud
Co-founder and Co-CEO @ FJONG Norge AS
What are your plans for the future?
We will soon expand FJONG's offerings with the launch of a subscription rental service and expansion into other Nordic markets. However, our focus remains on refining the usability of our website and perfecting our logistics. Our goal is to make it easier, cheaper and more convenient to rent the perfect outfit from FJONG than to go shopping.
Why did you become an entrepreneur?
My co-founders, Marie, and I where discussing the lack of easy access to rent women's clothes. We simply decided to start the service we felt was missing.
Aside from achieving commercial success, what do you see as your startup’s mission?
To help our customers do good and feed good by helping our our customers to save both money and the environment, without compromising style.
Describe your perfect day at work.
My perfect day would be full of happy FJONG customers! I love interacting with customers of different ages, in life situations and with different styles who love using FJONG.
What is your best advice for entrepreneurs who are just starting out?
1. Talk to people. Explaining your idea to others helps you to articulate your idea and strengthens your commitment to follow up on your plans. 2. Follow your intuition and believe in yourself. People will give you lots of advice, but in the end, you have to trust your own instincts. 3. Be prepared to work hard. There will be lots of challenges on they way. Stay focused and just keep working through them!
