Who we are

The co-founders of Wattero are two Norwegian recent graduates from NTNU and University of Oslo interested in social issues and traveling. We started Wattero because there is energy poverty in the world and we see the possibilities in ending this. Also, starting a business is cool!

In addition to the co-founders, we also have Patricia from Brazil who is responsible for Marketing and Kjersti from Norway who is in charge of Business Development. We are currently expanding our team and we hope to find both a talented CTO and CFO. We are looking for ambitious students or graduates who are motivated to learn new things, are independent and want to work with microgrid in areas without power.

We work hard during the day like to change up the working environment and happily have an after-work beer together.

Q&A with Elisabeth

Co-Founder @ Wattero

What are your plans for the future?

Ensure that Wattero will develop to be the main actor that is providing solar energy to African countries in a sustainable and durable way.

Why did you become an entrepreneur?

I became an entrepreneur because I am passionate about creating positive social change and I believe more social enterprises are needed in the world to achieve this. I am a co-founder of Wattero because I am excited about the possibility of providing environmentally friendly energy to people who need it, enabling development, empowerment, and sustainability.

Aside from achieving commercial success, what do you see as your startup’s mission?

Offer access to clean energy to people all over the world.

Describe your perfect day at work.

Having a big cup of quality coffee, starting off the day by getting updated on everything to do while listening to some cool music to get me going. Going out meeting people, seeing the need and purpose of what we are doing, which is what motivates me the most! Going back to the office to create concrete actions from what I have learnt, then do it all over again :)

What is your best advice for entrepreneurs who are just starting out?

Go out and meet people, talk about your idea, validate, ask questions, listen and try to learn as much as possible. Stay positive and energized, believe in yourself and the people you are working with. Go to events and seminars, meet more people, get out of your comfort zone. Remind yourself why you do what you do and be grateful for the fact that you have the opportunity to do exactly this!
