More about nHack Ventures

nHack is a generalist accelerator and venture fund, but has particular competence in Enterprise Software, Consumer Electronic, Medtech, Hardware, Ocean Technology, Gaming, Mobile, AgTech, Fintech and E-commerce. nHack’s first accelerators are located in Shanghai (Maritime and Ocean Tech), Shenzhen (Hardware), Beijing (Software and Gaming), Hangzhou (Medtech and E-commerce) and Singapore (Fintech). The nHack 3-month acceleration programs follow from seed rounds up to series A companies. nHack accepts applications all year around from Nordic startups, with most programs starting at the beginning of every quarter.

nHack believes that Nordic founders and startups are generally good at design and development, but that critical scale and access to customers/capital is much larger in Asia/China. nHack aims to fund founders to get commercial contracts and setup teams in Asia without making expensive mistakes. In other words, nHack could be your local joint venture partner to get ahead in Asia.

Experience

nHack is a relatively new fund, but the nHack team has invested in Asia for more than 20 years. A diverse team of Chinese, Asian and Nordic investment managers have developed unique infrastructure in Asia. nHack is operating in close partnership with local Asian co-investors, but also a set of established western partners in Asia, like WeWork, Flex and Danske Bank.

nHack’s investment team and mentor network have operational experience from companies such as Tencent, Alibaba, Baidu, PWC, Huawei and ChinaEquity.

How much do they invest?

They typically invest from $25k to $100K in exchange for 7-10% equity and charge a nominal fee for participation in the acceleration program. In addition, nHack will typically have an option to “double down” on their investment at original terms within a 3 to 5-month time period from acceleration starting point.

How do they work?

You can apply for funding and participation in the programs directly at the Hub. You will be asked to write a short description of your company, add a few details including your funding history and attach a complete picth deck. If possible, please include a video or a link to your most recent product, “crowdfunding” campaign or investor presentation.

This makes a difference to them

nHack is looking for companies who can clearly benefit from coming to China or Asia. nHack mainly invest in companies they can help making prototypes fast and test out on crowdfunding platforms, or introduce to local manufacturers, potential clients or investors. nHack is particularly keen in supporting Nordic founders that have a technology or a product that an Asian/Chinese technology company already has expressed a desire to develop or acquire. Hence, nHack spends a lot of time trying to understand what Asian/Chinese companies are looking for.

Startups they funded

Some of their Nordic investments include: Blueye Robotics, Moviemask, Playpulse, Breach VR, Orkel.no, Wiralcam. Techbuddy , Empirical, Scout, Soundboks, Lynx, Eir of Norway, Vultus.
