What are your plans for the future?
We are planning to grow both the volume of users on the platform as well as the team. Our ambition with Folq is to make it the go-to-place for independent consultants, small consultancy firms and customers. We plan to expand to other competence areas and markets over the next year. This require developing a platform that supports scale and offloads administrative tasks.
Why did you become an entrepreneur?
I have previous experience as a design consultant and as a manager in a large company. This gave me great experience, however, I felt the urge to be more hands on and closer to where the value is created. I love being able to come up with an idea and implement it in a matter of days! And there is the excitement of challenging the established and coming up with a better solution.
Aside from achieving commercial success, what do you see as your startup’s mission?
We want to make it easier to be an independent consultant, and for smaller consultancy firms to have the same visibility towards companies as larger consultancy firms . Also, we are passionate about enabling the consultants and customers to do more of what is important to them - getting the job done - not spending hours on finding each other and associated administrative tasks.
Describe your perfect day at work.
Lot of production time! Speed is essential to us, so we try to keep meetings to a minimum, and priorities clear, so we can maintain focus. We also enjoy a long lunch together in the team, and share some laughs.
What is your best advice for entrepreneurs who are just starting out?
Don't be afraid to make priorities. Settle for something, test it out and then you can adjust from there. It's easy to get stuck in a haze of discussions and plans.
